Funeral services: Supporting you in times of loss

We recognize that losing a loved one is a deeply painful experience. May Allah grant your family patience, forgive the deceased, and grant them eternal peace. Our masjid is here to guide you through the necessary steps with compassion and understanding.

What to do:

  • Reach out to a cemetery or service provider to begin arrangements.
  • The deceased will be taken to a funeral facility for preparation.
  • Washing of the body is carried out before the funeral prayer.
  • The funeral (Janazah) prayer is held at a local mosque.
  • Burial takes place shortly after at a designated cemetery.

It is customary to offer a small token of appreciation to those assisting with the burial.

Nikah services: Uniting couples in faith

Masjid An-Noor offers marriage services in accordance with Islamic guidelines, providing a simple and respectful process for couples. These services are typically used by young couples and families seeking to formalize their union under Islamic tradition.

Process:

  • The groom must meet with the imam in person.
  • The couple will have a meeting to review nikah requirements (mahr, wali, etc.).
  • Once approved, a date will be scheduled.
  • The nikah is performed at the masjid, and a certificate is provided.

Guidelines:

  • Nikah must be performed in person only.
  • A pre-marriage meeting with the imam is required.
  • Scheduling depends on the imam’s availability.
  • Only the masjid’s imam will officiate the nikah.
